Community AMMA Team Training - February 21-23, 2024 - West Region Treaty 2 & 4 Health Services hosted the Community AMMA Teams Training over 3 days with numerous training and information presentations throughout. The sessions included Vicarious Trauma with Cecil Sveinson, Grief and Loss with Andrew Bear, Debriefing with Chris Arthur, Sharing Circles with Teresa Snow and a RAMM Clinic presentation with Dr James Rae. The presentations were well received and the information was appreciated by all AMMA Team Members in attendance. Meegwetch!
West Region Treaty 2 & 4 Health Services celebrates the career of Eva Whitebird, Community Health Nurse in Rolling River First Nation. She has committed 20+ years of nursing service to the people of Rolling River and to WRTHS. She has made tremendous impacts to those she has served and has been an inspiration for those that have had privilege to work with her. The impacts she has made will always be remembered and will last a lifetime. We wish Eva Whitebird all the very best in retirement and wherever her path leads her; her career has truly been a job well done. We will miss you working with you.
West Region Treaty 2 & 4 Health Services Cultural Wellness Center - West Region Treaty 2 & 4 Health Services Board of Directors and Executive Director are proud to announce that our brand new Cultural Wellness Center is now open and in operation! The Center is located at 22 - 1st Avenue in Dauphin, and houses a number of our Mental Wellness programs. We are excited to get underway with hosting trainings and presentations for our West Region Communities, and look forward to having a space to support WRTHS Community health and wellness.

Brandon, MB - On October 17th through 19th, West Region Treaty 2 & 4 Health Services held a Mental Wellness Training for the 7 First Nations Anishinaabe Mekina Mino-Ayawin (AMMA) Teams. Our 92 AMMA team members, Board members and West Region Staff took part in the very first roll out training of the Crisis Response Procedures Manual. The teams engaged in discussions around future team training, and participated in Crisis Response Procedures exercises with their community teams. The training was well received and attended.
Dauphin, MB - On September 29th, West Region Treaty 2 & 4 Health Services held its annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation/Orange Shirt Day Event. The event was attended by 80 participants from the surrounding communities. Our host Tyler Geisler along with Nellie Kopitz, Shirley, Lorrie and Lorissa Norquay provided presentations for those in attendance. As well the event was treated to the drumming and dance demonstrations of the Smokey Island & Spirit Wind Drum Groups and the Minegoziibe Hoop Dancers. Meegwetch for a successful and impactful day!
